It's All About Me

Men, Mark Your Calendars

Gentleman, you will once again be fighting for our freedom… not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution… but from the annihilation of our manhood.

We are fighting for our right to live.

To exist.

To be entertained without a box of fucking Kleenex.

August 13

And should we win the day we will have declared in one deep husky manly voice: “We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive!”

And Gloria Gaynor will roll over in her grave.

Fuck yeah.

UPDATE: YouTube pulled the video… but luckily TrailerAddict still has it… at least for now!

Show Me The Belt, Beotches

Forget the fireworks.

Forget the barbecues.

Today… today is our Mustard Yellow Belt Day!!!

Two years ago this was the scene:

This year… no Kobayashi. Supposedly it’s because he is in a labor dispute with Major League Eating.

Chestnut is eating virtually unchallenged, which may give Eater X (Tim Janus) an advantage to sneak up from behind to secure the Mustard Yellow Belt.

Still… I have faith in Chestnut… I’m calling it Chestnut with 70 for the belt.

Just in case you all try this competitive eating contest at home, please watch this video so you know what to do when someone starts choking:

UPDATE: It was Chestnut with 54. Yes, the Yellow Mustard Belt stays in America… but it’s sort of a little disgraceful that the man who ate 68 last year couldn’t break 60 or even bring himself within 10 of his last competition. I never thought I’d say it… but I actually hope Kobayashi comes back next year.

We Are Kittay Parents Again… And We’ve Gone 21st Century Hippie Too!

So yesterday, while the rest of the mid-Atlantic region was pummeled by both snow and tea, Poppy and I welcomed the newest addition to our family…

It's Twitter!!!

She is quite an energetic and rambunctious 3 month old kitty! She also apparently has a foot fetish…

The Size comparison

And she also apparently has some rhythymn since she was dancing with her Woofa Dog all night long…

Dancing with the Doggy

Of course you probably are wondering what we’ve named her… and for this we’ve gone sort of hippie in a 21st Century blogger kinda way… because her name is…

Twitter!

Her meowing however does not appear to be limited to 140 characters.

Of this, I assure you…

On a completely separate note I would like to take this opportunity to wish my father a happy birthday. He’s turning the whopping 67 today… and will be celebrating it by what he has spent all those years obsessed with… football and 10 feet of cold cuts on bread.

Obviously it must also be Super Sunday.

Go Budweiser!

How You Know Your Blog Has Made It

There are a lot of bloggers trying to figure out how they know when their blog has “made it”.

For some of them, they’ve made it when they reach a certain visitor count. Whether it be 10,000 or 1,000 or 100, or 10… it’s a number they feel accomplished by.

For others it is when their Google Ads and affiliate checks amount to a certain number. Whether it be 10,000 or 1,000 or 100, or 10… it’s a number they feel accomplished from.

For me? It was casually checking my Woopra stats for the first time in… well… it seems like forever… and seeing this:

Do you know what that says? That says that I have had a visitor to my blog from Walnut Creek.

That can mean only one thing.

It can be only one person.

It can only be…

Laura Ingalls!!!

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

What?

You don’t believe me?

Well who else would be using Internet Explorer other than someone from the 18th Century!

Wassup Half-Pint!  Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to hang out, see the joys of modern life, and maybe even leave comment or two! Oh, and if you wouldn’t mind, could you go wish this fucker a happy birthday today?

He has a thing for dead people.

In pigtails.

So yeah… it’s a new year… a new decade… time for new things! Right?

  • I went to Walgreen‘s a paid $10 for a coffee maker
  • I got home and attempted to make my first pot of real coffee so I could chill it and make my own ice coffee
  • I spilled the entire pot of burned hot coffee all over the sink
  • I brewed a second pot of coffee, still burnt a bit
  • I went to bed at 8:30am and was awakened at 5:30pm by the sound of a ringing phone
  • I spoke to Poppy and then proceeded to dump that second pot of burnt coffee out as well
  • I brewed by third pot of coffee which came out okay
  • I fed the kittays their treat
  • I watched Jersey Shore
  • I ate macaroni & cheese
  • I watched wrestling
  • I said goodnight to Poppy
  • I went back to bed

  • I ate more macaroni & cheese
  • I started catching up on Heroes (7 episodes unwatched)
  • I upgraded the installation to WP 2.9 and had a critical failure that I then began fixing
  • I stopped trying to fix the WP issue because my brain was numb
  • I did some graphic work
  • I finished the graphic work and went back to the WP issue
  • I continued trying to master rasberries
  • I had a good night phone call from Poppy
  • I finished watching all the Heroes episodes
  • I finally got the WP installation to work right as SNL was ending
  • I wrote two e-mails that were on my to do list
  • I went to bed

Sunday January 3

  • I got up at 11:00am and gave the kittays a treat
  • I talked with Poppy
