Once again I am not using true bullets… simply aiming for where the bullets should go when I decide to use them…
⊕I had an awesome weekend that included good food, beautiful scenery, great company, and a demonstration led by a banner that read “Fuck The Pig State”. I don’t think they appreciated my sentiment of “Long live the bacon!”
⊕I also finally got to see Juno with my friend Buttery. This was an excellent and funny movie. The most outrageously hysterical idea was the Jason Bateman has musical talent… if its anything like his acting career, the music world can rest easy. Oh, and yes, amazingly Buttery made it all the way to the end
⊕I was pointed to this abomination of an article by one of my Google Alerts. I hate when people who have no idea what they’re writing about, let alone using correct grammar and a decent vocabulary, try and pawn themselves off as experts
⊕I had pizza yesterday. It was good
⊕Work has been incredibly busy and all because the people who tell us what to tell other people to do happen to misinform us. Then when the people don’t do what they’re supposed to, we take the blame. Where’s the fairness in that?
⊕I miss eating my bagel with bacon and American cheese in the morning from my high school cafeteria
⊕I heard there was a State of the Union address last night. Thank heavens for XBox Live
⊕I keep seeing this Pay It Forward meme thingy. While I’m all for the idea I really hated that movie. Alot
⊕John Cena winning the Royal Rumble pissed me off. I can’t stand Cena. The fact they actually MIGHT give him back the belt instead of Triple H irks me. Ashley however is hawter than all of hell in real life and the fact she brushed right by me more than made up for the WWE‘s crappy writers. Shouldn’t they be on strike?
⊕I feel old. Too much excitement. I need a nap

So 01.18.08 has come and gone… and we here in New York City are alive and well. Of course, that is not so according to the uber-hyped movie Cloverfield.
Before I actually get to sharing my opinion on the actual film (which I’ll put below the fold because I will probably mention some spoilers and don’t want to ruin it for anyone) that I saw with my friend (who shall henceforth be known as Buttery for the amount of the shit she poured onto the popcorn) allow me to explain to you exactly what my feel about what type of movie this actually is. I have never viewed this as a true “monster” movie. The way I have always seen Cloverfield was more of a story of origin told from a certain point of view.
The point of view they chose, whether it be paying homage to The Blair Witch Project or ripping it off, serves for a purpose. The “mystery” surrounding the monster known as Cloverfield, kept secret and STILL being debated, proved that the Internet does not necessarily have to ruin the best parts of a movie… and in fact can often enhance it. The very basis of this movie was NOT to answer ANY questions about it. This movie was meant to be the foundation of a franchise. Having been made for $30 Million dollars it has reportedly made $46 Million dollars over the weekend.
Get ready for the series… I assure you.
Now onto the actual movie…
