So welcome to another edition of Ooogle Monday. This week’s themed edition is after the new movie release, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer… which I also happened to see this weekend. So without further adieu…
As
Johnny ”The Human Torch” Storm, actor
Chris Evans dominates the screen with hunkiness. I was amazed at how many women in the theater continually seemed to swoon whenever he appeared on screen. Apparently his body isn’t the only thing Evans heats up.
As
Sue ”The Invisible Girl” Storm, actress and
self-denied Mexican Jessica Alba sizzles… even with blond hair in the movie. One of the things about her in this role was that no man WANTS her to be invisible… I mean… c’mon!
Now below the fold… a quick movie review…
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is a prime example that Hollywood can indeed produce a GOOD movie based on a comic book. After the disappointment that was Spider-Man 3, FF:RSS has saved the comic book movie face for 2007.
The effects were, as expected, outstanding. What was more appealing was the storyline… which in essence was a storyline from the comic book. Everything from the banter between Human Torch and Thing to the financial issues the wonderful City of New York brings against the Fantastic Four, truly immerse you in the characters as they were originally written.
While fans may be disappointed in the appearance of Galacticus, that is in fact easily overlooked by the great development of the characters and the situations they find themselves in. All problems started in the beginning of the movie are tied up neatly at the end. There is no sense of longing or disappointment. While the sense of closure is indeed there, of course there is an opening for future editions.
This movie is not just for fan boys, but for the non-reading public as well. It is a complete story arc with well developed characters, and is probably the best movie out thus far this year… that is until The Transformers hits July 3.
