Okay… so it really wasn’t so fine… but that’s because I haven’t been feeling well… nevertheless… the rest of the post is below the fold…
So I decided to do the original Rice Krispies for two reasons… a) it was on the shelf and b) its the only cereal I really thought wouldn’t make me go all pukey on camera. I’ve eaten Rice Krispies since I was a kid… and while some people may think the fact that I talk to them while they “talk” back is a little odd… well it was really good for me to practice for my speech therapy. Rice Krispies is actually a pretty healthy cereal in comparison with most others. They give you a bigger serving size for the same nutritional value has most others. The Rice Krispies branding is also very popular with Snap, Crackle, and Pop. Not only do they lend themselves to the cereal, but also to the popular Rice Krispies Treats which probably aren’t as nutritional. What was the one thing Rice Krispies lacked? Why a toy of course!
Kellogs by the way has recently launched an online campaign specifically for Rice Krispies called Operation Spark. You can read the press release here. The name of the site is Childhood Is Calling. They have some cool things like songs, recipes, and the history of Snap, Crackly, and Pop. If your a mom… and I know quite a few of you are… you should check it out for the recipes alone. You can never not have enough recipes.
So that was this week’s Cereal Wednesday. Sorry it was sucky… but it was like 1:00am this morning and like I mentioned before… I ain’t feeling so good. Next week should definitely be better.
