And you do realize that once you’ve drank from the Apple well that there’s no going back… right? You’ll be buying an iMac any day now…
Ugh! This disgusts me. You paid $150 for your 8G. I hate when things get cheaper… no, scratch that, I hate paying more for something I knew damn well would be cheaper.
My 2G Nano cost more than your classic.
Oh the pain! Oh the horror!
Dude, I so understand.
I have been in the tech industry for 15 years now. Of course, my legacy is UNIX and MS products. But if I could, without major issues, I would use Mac for EVERYTHING. I recognize that Apple now has that program where I can run windows apps and stuff in a virtual environment, but I have been told it’s slow. Plus, I have also been told that I have to use Mac’s email program, but I could be wrong about that.
Long have I been a UNIX fan, not much of a MS fan, but really not having a business option. Wouldn’t it be a perfect world if business went all Mac for client systems, and just kept their UNIX and MS servers back-end? That would be better than sex for me, because the climax would last a hell of a lot longer.
Anyway, yes, I am an IFan. I will say, though, that, owning both an MP3 player and an IPOD, I actually use Napster and not Itunes. Now, I made the switch back before podcasts and all of that. I preferred to pay $15 a month to “rent” my music rather than buy my music for a buck a piece. But my blackberry is a total piece of diarrhea, and I swear I am going to go buy an IPhone now that they cut the price. If I do that, then I am going to go back to Itunes.
My two cents…
iam pondering joining the cult myself. Christmas is coming and imust make my choice well. iget advice from young people who say “newer, hotter, better” about everything and older folks who say “what’s wrong with CDs?” It’s nice to hear from someone who has given this so much thought.
Enjoy your new “friend” May it never lose it’s charge!
Congratulations on your iPodness induction. I must say, though, you look damn good on my Toshiba 16x9 Hi-Rez laptop pc!
I still have yet to try an iPod. I’ve had several others - the original hard-drive based Music Compressor (it was $1100 in 2000, but had 6GB! Then I upgraded to 20GB in 2001), the Dell DJ, the Nomad, and of course using the trusty laptop itself. I really wanted the Zune but ran out of money so I’ve waited and waited. So maybe this next year I’ll try out an Apple product.
But I don’t like being part of a cult. Don’t I have to be gay or something to own Apple products?
/intended to be funny
My only beef with the ipod (not counting the commercials, because that’s a whole blog post in itself) is that you have to use itunes...itunes doesn’t like my mini (because it’s kind of underpowered), and I don’t want to put it on my pc (for the same reason I don’t like windows media player on macs...stuff just doesn’t work like they’re supposed to when ported over to another platform)...so...yeah…
It’s fucking 5am and I’m still up...and I’m rambling...sorry.
iAm glad you came over to the iGlory. Here’s a prayer for you:
Our father, who art in Apple,
iPod be thy name.
Thy Mac-dom come,
Thy will be done,
With music as it will be delivered.
Give us this day our daily tech
And forgive us for Windows
As we forgive Bill who wants to be us.
Lead us not into smugness
But deliver us from boring.
For thine is the coolest, and hippest, and trendiest,
Forever and ever. Amen.
Go in iPeace, my friend.
iAm a member of the iCult. Proud and true.
Do you want to buy me new headphones? iBroke mine
