540 calories of processed beef makes more sense in my mind.

BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL!!! Surely you read the calorie count wrong?  What? NO?  Oh when will I find fruity goodness worthy of my diet???

I’m totally hooked on smoothies too, never tried theirs though. Sometimes it’s safer to not read too far into the nutritional content… such a mood killer.

We used the same HeMan reference.

Of course, I used mine YESTERDAY....  smile

My dad and I got a cheap knockoff for my mom when she was in the hospital. She had an anerysm repaired, so they were watching her blood sugar. Boy, that juice really spiked it.

Because of that, I find myself thinking that it probably sounds healthier than it is.

My fav is Berry Lime Sublime.  They discountinued it but will still make them for me if I ask.  They do have a “lite” menu with lesser calories.  I haven’t tried them so I don’t know if they are the same, tastewise.

One day I was at work when I noticed a new business opening across the street. I wandered over and got a smoothie from the nice owner, who had been the cashier I always went to at Safeway. I think that was about 20 years ago, and yes, I got one of the first smoothies Jamba Juice (then Juice Club) ever served, right from the hands of founder Kirk Perron. I shoulda invested....

Avi- Yes… along with purified and processed cheese, lettuce, and the special sauce.  I’m all about the special sauce.

Metalmom- I know… it saddened me greatly as well.

Sxymom- It totally killed me mood… like as in Jason Voorhies killed it.

Miss Britt- Yes… its true you used that yesterday in your BLOG… I use mine in REAL LIFE… so I got you beat.  tongue laugh

Lynda- It’s true… you should really never assume something is healthier because of words like “fresh” or “organic”.  I had figured it would be high… like around 350… but it was almost DOUBLE what I had anticipated.

Melanie- I might check out the Lite menu… but they’re pretty much the same price… so I feel like I’m getting ripped off.  Hence one reason I’m not a big Diet Coke fan anymore… it’s the same price as regular Coke.  If I’m paying for the calories… then I want my friggin calories!

Suebob- big surprise So can I get a Suebob comments on my blog discount since your tight with the founder?  Well… it was worth a try.

Oh no you di’nt.

I also use this in my daily life.

I ALSO use “I’ll never kneel to you… yes you will! YES you will!” which very few people even KNOW is a HeMan reference.

AND I know The Tones.

So.  Clearly.  I win.

Really???

Prove it.

Only video evidence will suffice.  By Monday.

Game?

Ya know… it’s often this way.  I committed to eating health bars for snacks as a way of eating healthier. They all taste like ass and are expensive as hell but, hey, they’re better for me, right?

Then one day I compared the Nutritional Values for a so-called health bar to a regular candy bar and was shocked to find that there really wasn’t a big difference!  That’s just wrong!

Fuck.  Now I have homework for this weekend.

It is more than wrong… it is criminal!!!

I had no issue with the taste… because I’m all about peaches.  I did have issue with the cost, because to me that’s just wrong from an economic standpoint.  One of the reasons lower income families are relegated to “junk” food is because of its affordability.  This is really a prime example in that something that SHOULD be healthier for you is priced higher.

It’s health price gouging if you ask me.

wtf?  how many strawberries do you need to get up to 560 calories?  Is the milk skim or whole and even then a glass of milk isn’t 500 freaking calories.  What are they putting in those things?

Jamba Juice is a customer of ours (we’re a large ISP) and I had never heard of them until they were a customer… we didn’t have any here in Austin.

Still haven’t tried them, but with this review, I may try.

I’ll have to quote thundarr, tho, when I hold mine up

“...but one man bursts his bonds to fight for jamba.  With his companions, Ookla the Mok, and Princess Ariel, he pits his strength, his courage, and his fabulous Sunsword against the forces of evil. “

Miss Ann- Honestly, I’m not sure… but its a whole helluva lot of something

Wayne- Mmmmm… maybe I should try that line next time I’m there… since you know… Britt apparently OWNS He-Man and the Masters of the Universe… of course… it does make me wonder what she would look like in Teela’s costume… but I am severely digressing.

Jenny (Craig that is) would be proud of you for cutting back on those 560 calorie smoothies buddy-boy.

comment by jasmine  on  10/19  at  08:53 PM

Mmm Jamba. Yes I remember them. Unfortunately, there are NONE in this little tiny itty bitty almost non-existant town I live in (near- I’m actually not even in the “city” limits). So instead, I make my own. I don’t have multiple blenders in my kitchen or boosters to add to it, but I also don’t have the monkey load of calories or the shock you in your tracks price. Mmmm smoothie :D
