Guess who’s been to NYC many times but just now put her ICE contactS in her phone?

That’d be me.

And, not to be a total tourist, but I really wanna do most of these things.  Totally not necessary to do them all during Brittcon, but I’m VERY excited to experience Manhattan.

The only people I trust in NYC are you and people related to you.  smiley

YAY!!! We’re staying in Midtown!!!!

And believe me - I’ve spent enough time in Chicago to know that even an optimistic Polly Anna like myself needs to be alert and be safe.  You are so fucking sweet to remind us.

And also??

I now have a reason to stop off at The Garden.  Ah… my love…

Swear to God, the thing that stuck out most to me in this post was the picture. The Jumbotron has the NBC logo… but the bankrupt network lost it to News Corp about a year and a half ago. WTF is wrong with me that THAT is what I notice? wink

If I leave now I can be there in 10 hours.  Course I have a feverish 3 year old and a 10K in 5 days so drinking is out.  SIGH.
Have fun, fuckers!

I’m always shocked at how visitors avoid the subway like the plague because they think it’s dangerous. When I’m in NYC, I ride the subway constantly, because it’s convenient, clean, cheap, and about as safe as any public transportation I’ve ridden in any city. The subway is your friend!

When my kid was in Times Square she called me from her cell and told us where she was and which direction they were walking. Her dad (who’s originally from Forest Hills) showed me some places online where there were cams. Sure enough, the kids walked past one! So we told them to go back and stand in front of the camera and wave. They never even knew the cam was there! But they thought it was totally cool that we could see them.

We got married in new york (the tropical house at central park zoo.  I loved it, and am hoping to go back maybe next year.  I’ll be sure to print out your guides when we do.

good choices and good advice… also love Docks (3rd @ 40th) for seafood and Fagiolini (334 Lex) for great locally made pasta dishes..

Always enjoy lurking here…
