Aww...maybe it won’t be that bad.  I mean, they have reformulated other foods in the past that taste just as yummy fitting into the guidelines.

I don’t eat those cereals except on rare occasions because I’m a cereal snob, but I can appreciate the concern!

And you’re right.  Cereal and foods aren’t the childhood obesity problems.  The problem is that the parents let their stupid little shits sit around and do nothing all day rather than run around and play like we always did.  I mean, we ate the sugary cereal.  We had cookies every day after school.  We ate FULL FAT ice cream, but we were never ever fat as children.  Now...well, we’re older.  LOL

Crud, YouTube is stuck in loading mode.

I totally agree with you. Who the hell is running the show? Parents or are they letting their kids whine & throw tantrums to get junk food?
The word “NO” comes to mind.

Plus, if you don’t let kids try some of that crap, they don’t know what they’re missing. Maybe that’s not such a bad thing, afterall, it’s us adults that really appreciate the snap, crackle & pop!

Oh, I thought I posted a comment here!  Sigh.  Thanks for the alert.  I’m starting to think that extremists have taken over the cereal industry…

KG- If they are able to retool without changing the taste… no problem.  If they can’t… then they may as well change their name from “Kelloggs” to “Houston”

Jane- Its pretty true… the whole thing revolving around only the industries being responsible to me is BS.  Parents are more so responsible in my opinion… they are the ones with the purchasing power.

Poppy- Yes… Nutritional Fundamentalists are invading our very culture.

Diva- Yes!  Save the Cereal!!!!

I really don’t think commercial advertising...or lack thereof...would hurt those cereals.  EVERYBODY knows those cereals and every single person in the US over the age of 3 has eaten them at some point.

Kids don’t get fat from eating cereal.  Kids get fat from eating at McDonald’s, drinking coke, eating chips and candy.  I’m pretty sure that if you ate cereal 5 times a day as meals, you’d lose a fuckton of weight.

I hate people.  I hate that we can’t be trusted to make our own choices for ourselves and for our children because there are idiots in the world who just can’t understand why their 5 year old weighs 70 lbs when they eat pizza and kentucky fried chicken every night.

I don’t have an attitude problem, you have a perception problem

Talking about these old stand by cereals makes me want to run out and get some Apple Jacks.  They still make those right???

And I agree that kids aren’t suddenly getting fat from sugar cereal.  My sis eats cereal 2/3 times a day and she’s average size.  And two of her standbys are Cocoa Pebbles & Lucky Charms.
