I need a new theme again, it’s just very, verrrry low on the priority list right now. I’d like to have a source of income sometime in the not too distant future.
I’ve been to Red Lobster all of maybe 3 times in my life. The Olive Garden used to be a Red Lobster, and that was the only one in the whole state. No one knows why it closed, it was very popular. Apparently nobody actually cared enough, because I’m sure it would have been easy to find out if someone tried asking the right people. And… there have to be other Red Lobsters. There’s one in West Lebanon… but I’m guessing that isn’t on the way to your aunt’s house?
I think I’m watching live Olympics right now, it says “Live” in the upper right corner. Phelps just placed #1 in the semis for the (err, swim with the 4 strokes).
I am pleased with the drop in price. Your mom bought gas for $4.05/gallon at the full service pump today! I have hope that when I fill the Kia to drive back to VT I won’t go broke!
On Red Lobster - I’ve had a couple experiences similar to yours. In one instance, everything seemed to get messed up. Our orders, our reservation, everything about the night was out of whack. But the waiter was patient and attentive, making certain we were, at the very least, entertained (he performed magic tricks at our table, to his manager’s chagrin), and lobbying for us to get reduced prices and free desert.
In the other, the waiter was sloppy and slow, and though the food was good, it was late. There was no apology, no suggestion that anything had been out of the ordinary for either the server or the establishment itself.
The latter waiter didn’t get a tip. You don’t work, you don’t get the extra pay. The former? He got a fifty dollar handshake.
On The Olympics - I’m with ya here. I think this is the first year when I haven’t actively looked for when my favorite events were going to be shown, so I could be there to watch. Maybe I’m leaning toward a little laziness in my *cough cough* old age, but I just care a whole lot less this time around.
Not entirely certain why.
On Gas Prices - I’m really encouraged to see some energy legislation going through that might actually benefit the consumer and the nation as a whole. That said, it would be nice if pump prices dropped as quickly as they went up when per barrel costs rose.
I can’t believe you got such horrible service the other day! That’s crazy. I mean I know that they live on tips so you’d think they’d at least..I dunno do their job decently? But I guess not.
I’m super excited about the drop in gas prices. It’s now less than $4 here and it no longer costs half my paycheck to fill up my car. Working part time in retail, you don’t get all that much to start with and when it all went to gas to go to work it was sort of defeating the purpose of earning a living.
i’ve never had a bad experience in a red lobster. always the same frozen seafood prepared exactly as it was the last time. and oh the never ending biscuits! yum! (i just let out a HUGE sigh. hehe) tell me the truth...did you go to that terribly tacky red lobster in times square? with the ridiculously giant spinning lobster? damn thing is creepy!
i love the olympics, but also have struggled to get into them this year. personally, my issue is that they are on in the background and i am too busy being addicted to my lappytop showing me the entire world wide web.
i fueled up wednesday here in pittsburgh at $3.75 a gallon. still too fucking high. but what pisses me off is that the price isn’t like milk and regulated so that ny and ca wouldn’t pay fifty cents more than i do. i don’t get that.

T. Boone Pickens.
I love the name. He should have been a country singer.
I’ve really been getting into the Olympics this year. The time delay doesn’t bother me. I know they’re 12 hours ahead over there. There are bound to be all sorts of limitations broadcasting like that.
Poppy- You still have a very pretty theme!!! Although… well… we could spruce it up a bit if you REALLY want to…
Simon- I’m totally with you on the price drop of gasoline. The price skyrocketed based on what the price of oil was that day… when the oil they were using they had gotten for MUCH cheaper. Hence… the outrageous profits.
Sarah- Yeah… it is a totally defeatist thing to spend more than 20% of your earnings on the method to get there… but alot of people just don’t have the mass transit choices that others have. Then of course… there are the industries that RELY on gas, such as transportation, that then raise their prices… and their increases get passed on in the prices of the products… but yet no one seems to be increasing wages. It’s a vicious cycle.
Hello haha narf- I’m surprised that you’re paying $3.75… I would have thought your area would still be over the $4.00 mark… considering the industrial base there. Yes, I have been to the Red Lobster in Times Square… and it was totally delightful. Nothing but tourists taking mad pictures. Some family in Japan has a picture of me on their wall throwing the horns behind their grandfather… of this I am sure.
Delmer- He totally should have been… and written a song about losing his dog to an oil derrick.
Karl- Yeah… I can understand the limitations… I just don’t agree with the presentation of it being “Live” when it really wasn’t. At least say, “Taped Live in front of an Arena Audience” or something.

If you want to buy a car, you would have to receive the credit loans. Furthermore, my father commonly uses a short term loan, which is the most fast.
