Hey, I’ve got that same camera!  I’m hoping to get a wide angle lens for it before TequilaCon—I really want to get some good landscape shots of Santa Fe and the surrounding area.

No such thing as too much research with something like a camera! With all the choices out there you need to know what’s important to you and what you can live without when it comes to things like cameras, phones and PC’s! Nice pictures!

Is there any way I can vote again?  cuz I’ll sit here all day…

CONGRATS ON THE NEW CAMERA!  I haven’t been able to use mine since loosing the extra battery and charger at Kenned Space Center a few weeks ago :-(

I love the pictures! I’m also shopping for a new camera - going to look at the link in a minute. Thanks!

That Cannon takes awesome pictures.  Cat whiskers have never looked better.  Is it cheating if I sign up under all my different E-mail addresses and vote for you?

I have the Canon 50mm f/1.8 (not the nicer, more expensive f/1.4 that you might be wanting) and I hardly ever use it since I got the 24-70 f/2.8. I can bring it to Tequila Con and sell it to you for something like $60 if you want.

I noticed! I noticed!

I love my 50mm 1.8 lens. That’s how I took some of those tulip shots. It was cheap, too. And it’s called a portrait lens, and it is perfect for taking those full-face pictures you’ve been doing. And not expensive (under $100), even if you don’t take Ren up on his offer.

I’m eyeing a macro, but they’re like $400 minimum. Gotta save my pennies.

P.S. - Thanks for the props!

I want to get a camera like that one day. I love Cannon. I have an old AE1 I thought of converting but that thing has been loved nearly to death.

Congrats on the new camera.  Someday, I will get a DSLR.  Although, not for my scooter videos.

We have the same camera, and I have no idea whatsoever what I did with myself before I had a digital SLR.  LOVE.

Also, your b&w cat has got some SERIOUS whiskers going on.  Wow.

Iron Fist- Really?  Why did I think you sided with Lord Nikon?  Yeah… definitely looking forward to Santa Fe for some killer shots.

B- Yeah… the thing is I think for awhile I was siffering from paralysis due to over analysis.  At some point… you just have to push the button.

Miss Britt- How many e-mail accounts do you have?  That sucks about the charger!  Those are a pain to replace!

Sybil- It’s a pretty awesome camera to be honest.  I’m a big poster print fan… and this makes them mad easy!

LeSombre- It is an awesome shirt indeed!!!  I don’t know where… maybe in Canadia?

Bobbird3131- The cat whiskers do stand out quite a bit more!  I wouldn’t consider it cheating… it’s just leveraging your assets.

Ren- Bring the lens.  I’ll buy it!  Do you like the 24-70?  I was looking at that one too… but it just seemed kinda meh.

Finn- I know you did!  One of the few and the proud!!!  I’ve heard the term “portrait lens” before… but I think in the right hands, almost any lens with a low enough f/stop can be a portrait lens.

Lynda- Oh my… an AE1… sweetness!  I used to have a T-50… and that camera rocked so I went with Canon again even after a brief stint with a Nikon 6006

MartyMankins- I said the same thing.  My day finally came… as will yours.

Laura- Oh I know what you mean.  I’m amazed at how I went this long without!!!

Dawg, I *love* the 24-70. It focuses so fast and produces nice sharp images with wonderful color and contrast. It’s in a whole other class from the rest of my lenses—which is actually literally true as it is an “L” lens (Canon’s Pro line).
