I didn’t read Amy’s blog, but when I saw the post about Greg last night on the feedreader, it was quite sad. He is apparently really well known in Kansas City, which is where he live now, and is known as a “local blogger” by the media there.
It is really sad about Greg. He had some great stories about the French Quarter before he had moved. We actually had an e-mail exchange about NOLA pre and post Katrina… and in a small way, in hearing his stories, I could sense the loss of something that was truly great.
He truly was gifted.
“In each of us two natures are at war… the good and the evil. All our lives the fight goes on between them, but one of them must conquer. In our own hands lies the power to choose. What we want most to be we are.” – Dr. Henry Jekyll
Learning of Greg’s death is devastating. I’ve had some correspondence with him and he was a real trip.
I’ll miss him and his wonderful sense of humour.
This just sucks.

I went over there and paid my respects… Very sorry to hear about both… Didn’t know either but took some time to read up and they both seem like special people. Wish I had known about them before…
How very sad. I have known a few bloggers who have passed, and it always makes my heart a little heavy.
Oh, how awful! I had just stopped by Greg’s after reading about him on your Sunday post. It’s so strange how he was just there, blogging and being so funny, and now gone. So, so, sad. :(
