I cannot read below the fold, I haven’t seen it yet. :( Someone told me her favorite character dies, though.  Must convince Hay to go to crowded theater to see a movie no one thinks was that awesome…

Don’t forget Bruce Campbell’s cameo.  He was awesome.

The fight scenes were tremendous.  The plot tried to cram too much in.

Sam Raimi does not like Venom - he’s an old school Spider-man fan.  His story of Sandman and the New Goblin would have been excellent if the studios hadn’t made him shoehorn Venom in there.

Poppy- If you go to the theater, try to do it with a heavy comic fan base.  I think the experience will be more enjoyable.

Avi- Bruce Campbell did have a great cameo… even though he is a tag along with Ted Raimi.  The final fight scene was tremendous indeed.  All the others though were more like half-fights, and there weren’t many.

I think your right about them trying to cram so much in… which was a big fear when everyone found out about it.  Had they left it at Sandman and Venom, or Sandman and New Goblin, or New Goblin and Venom, I think it could have been a lot better.  One thing I do have to agree with is that perhaps Raimi’s burnt out on the franchise.  I tend to think that one of the reasons Harry Potter is so successful is because each movie has a new director, and therefore a new vision.

Certainly it isn’t the writing, because I think the writing in comic books outdoes JK Rowling in the grand scheme of things.

I agree that there was just way too much in the movie.  I found myself looking at my watch an hour before the film was over.  While I found the special effects for the Sandman fantastic, I found that part of the plot unsatisfactory. Sandman just blows away?  Meh.  Spidey can forgive him, but he was still a bad guy.

Best part of the movie?  Stan Lee.

Stupidest part of the movie?  Snow-boarding boy joining the good fight.  That just torked me off.

I cant read below the fold , and I am afraid to read the comments as well.

We wont be going until the din has died down a bit, we want to take our three boys to it, so it has to be a bit quieter LOL

As for Dj and the stuck in a rut movie issues, kids are really into routine and it takes a while to beat that. just plan your days with DJ in advance and leave movies outta it!

I can not read below the fold.  I do very much appreicate you giving me fair warning.

I too have to go to the movie--but I made it thru this weekend so it shouldn’t be too too bad.... But then again I could be wrong.  My son is begging and begging to go…

sigh.

Dawn- Yeah… he seems to have no swagger yet again!  Granted… it was only about 2 minutes… but still.

Colleen- Yes, Stan’s cameo was one of the best he has ever done.

Bluepaintred- I do actually try to plan the days in advance… but then he “needs” to see one.  Shrek the Third is also on the list of “needs” when it comes out.

Mutt Royalty- I would have preferred a nice weeknight where I could enjoy my Twizzlers and Nacho Cheese in peace… I never even got the cheese because they were sold out.

Mmm...no desire to see it other than to see one of my future ex-husbands on the big screen.  Doug might like it though.

And I hate people, too.  Kthx.
