Congrats to X for the much deserved citation!

Paid or not, I think anyone who stays in this type of field for long deserves some credit.  I’m only familiar with EMS pay scales in California, but the monetary compensation (even with a union contract in place) falls ridiculously short of being equal to the effort you have to put in to fulfill the responsibilities the job entails.

Yay X! That award was definitely well deserved! There is definitely a lack of volunteerism in today’s world. I know at the rec group, the “volunteers” feel as if they are doing us a MAJOR favour (which they are...) but then assume we should be getting them extra expensive snacks and allowing LOTS of volunteer time so they can hook up with other volunteers.

I didn’t even know there were volunteer police officers. Wow!
