I would have preferred watching Jersey Girl.  Or leaving early to iron my Princess Leia outfit.

Did not care for the movie as soon as Zack and Miri had the sex.

B.E. Earl

I will eventually see it, but I haven’t been excited for a Smith flick since Dogma.

Still haven’t seen it.
But i will!

On TV ads for it I see they leave out the “Makes a porno” part of the title.

I hope to catch the flick soon.

I enjoyed it right up to the point after they actually had sex.  Then it went from an original, interesting film to a film filled with cliches and a deus ex machina.

I went in expecting to like it and came out thinking “Man, I expected it to be better than that”.

Never been a Kevin Smith fan, but I can’t say like I gave it the old college try.

All you fans out there - if I were to try ONE movie of his to see if I liked it, which would it be?

hmm, maybe I should make that my post for today with the guaranteed blog post traffic it would create smile

i am a HUGE fan of dogma.  LOVE that flick.
(just so happened to be filmed here in pittsburgh, but that isn’t why i love it so.)

Wayne: My absolute without-a-doubt favourite Kevin Smith film is DOGMA.

comment by sourpuss  on  11/07  at  02:55 PM

Going to see Zack and Miri MAKE A PORNO (I refuse to shorten it like the censors do) tonight after work.  Can’t wait.

Whall?  If you have to see just one, I’d say Dogma.  I have an unhealthy love for Clerks (the original), but it’s not for everyone.  Dogma however is fucking brilliant.

Adam copied and pasted my comment, he just didn’t know it.  For once I agree completely with Adam.  Completely.  Won’t ever happen again, probably.

I liked it. But then I pretty much love anything Jason Mewes is in anyways so maybe I’m a bit biased.

Poppy- You would have enjoyed it more if you had the popcorn.

B.E. Earl- The fact this movie received controversy that was pretty close to Dogma has me relatively psyched.

Sybil- You better!

Mik- Yeah… big controversy over the title… even now that they’re using stick figures on the poster.

Hola hoho snarf- It looked the same.  Gray and gloomy.

Avitable- I know what you mean… but at the same time every story can be categorized as either a Romance, a Drama, or a Mystery… so while it did turn pretty cliche’ in the end… the vehicle that got it there was pretty funny… especially when Jeff Anderson got frosted like a cake… which I did totally expect.

Miss Britt- We’re talking about Zack And Miri Make A Porno, not Sex In The City.

Whall- While I have a sever prefernce for Clerks and Mallrats… I would say Chasing Amy.  It’s a Conservative Republican’s wet dream… the conversion of a lesbian to a heterosexual.

Lucy- It’s definitely a good time after spending a day, “working for the man”.

Poppy- For once?  I think this is the 37th time I’ve heard you completely agree with him.

Sarah- There is nothing wrong with loving the Mewes… snootchy bootchy and all that.

Miss Ann- Thank you!!!!  Only you would remember it before my actual post about it!  smiley

Good point about the popcorn, :p about agreement.

Same with B.E. Earl… I loved Dogma and this movie is something I want to see.  I saw Jersey Girl, but I have to agree with the critics in that Kevin Smith doesn’t do romance very well.  But I like him as a director, which is why I’m giving Zach and Miri a chance.
