End Of Times Anyone?

imageEveryone see the rise of carbon dioxide amounts over the northern eastern coast of the United States?  That’s the sigh over the denial of history being made by the state collective (Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island) known as New England who all share fandom of the Patriots who had an ALMOST perfect season this year.  Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades dontcha know?  Of course, the fact the Patriots video intro was about Teamwork… and before the game had ended… their coach and mentor Bill Belichick had abandoned them on the field.  Classically hypocritical.

The New York Giants, who started off the season very poorly at 0-2, then went on to become a wild card seed, and who came into the biggest game of the year against all odds.  There was a 13 point spread, but the most New England ever lead by was 4.  While everyone wants to say, “Eli Manning” this or “Eli Manning” that… we know the truth.  It was the team effort that got the job done with a defense that pummeled Brady repeatedly and an offense that made plays happen and catches against all odds (and surfaces) to put the points on the board.  I hate football for the sheer fact that it often overlooks the team effort in favor of the quarterback.

I have to be honest though… that game was probably the best game I have seen in years.  Literally.  This was actually a Superbowl worth watching for more than the commercials.  There are some people disgusted because its Eli Manning who ended the dream of a perfect season.  There are others just dismayed because its NOT the Patriots.  Then there are the rest of us… who live in a world where the good guys wear black, the bad guys get the girl, and the underdog will triumph despite the odds and challenges.

Its good to be a New Yorker today.
