October

imageLet me just get the disclaimer out of the way… I am NOT a big sports fan.  However, here in New York is a “friendly” rivalry between both the New York Mets and the New York Yankees.  Personally, if I have to choose, I’ll just cheer for New York.  However, since one of my jobs happens to land me on occasion at a stadium in the Bronx, it is therefore assumed I am in fact a Yankees fan.

A Yankees fan who lives in the home borough of the Mets, who’s father and brother are Mets fans, and who seems to have only Mets fans as friends.  So at the beginning of this past baseball season, all I heard about was how badly the Yankees were.  How Joe Torre was washed up.  How Jeter was getting old.  How Rodriguez was a waste.  I also heard how WONDERFUL Willie Randolph was.  How Tom Glavin was going to deliver.  How David Wright was going to rock the season.

Well… its October.  All of my pro-Mets family/friends have not said a word.  It seems that instead of being red with happy glee… they are pale as ghosts.  The Mets have indeed entered the history books… as the worst collapse in baseball history.

That is truly amazin’.  LOL
