Remembrance Day

Today is Remembrance Day, in honor of the service of men and women in the armed forces.  Remembrance Day is also known as Armistice Day, since it was on this day in 1918 that World War I came to its conclusion when Germany signed the Armistice.

If you see a Veteran today, be sure to thank them for their service in protecting your freedoms and liberties.  Try not to be a crass individual and wish them a “Happy Remembrance Day” or a “Happy Veterans Day”, because it isn’t a day of happiness for them.  Also, try not to be one of these bleeding heart liberals who lecture them on their “evil” ways.  It was the “evil” ways of the veterans of the American Revolution that gave you the freedom to be a liberal, and it was the “evil” ways of the veterans of the Civil War that made the first step to electing a President who is part African American even possible.  So if you see a Veteran today, be sure to thank them for their service in protecting your freedoms and liberties that include the right to be a liberal.

You can read about The Veteran’s Poppies for a little more history on the symbol of the flower.
