Snow.
The white powder is almost mana falling from the sky for children all over. The whiteness blankets the gray of the world… and for that one day… the dirtiness of it all is hidden… and the world is once again innocent and renewed. It signifies the possibility of a day away from the drudgery that is school. A day filled with warm jackets, knit gloves, 3 pairs of pants worn at once, and most importantly the opportunity to make both your father and uncle howl in pain when you shove a handful of the stuff down their backs. It heralds a night of cocoa, fuzzy slippers, and the cartoon channel ablaze in an overly abundantly heated home that makes the rosy cheeks after a day of hard play burn brighter.
Snow is a good thing.
