On the morning of Sunday December 7, 1941 the United States was the target of a surprise attack by the country of Japan at the Hawaiian naval station Pearl Harbor.

That Sunday morning 2,402 Americans were killed and the entry of the United States into the second World War had been guaranteed.
There were 98,881 American servicemen killed during the second World War.
Take a moment today to remember those that were lost in the initial attack… and those that were lost in putting the word ”United” in ”United States”.
